Epsom O40s move into next round

macca Match reports, Vets

Epsom started the game with a bang and were awarded a penalty stroke within the first minute but we’re disappointed to see the keeper save James Harris’s effort. However a few minutes James Harris made a killer pass into the area for Steve Turnbull to deflect pass the Brighton keeper.

Captain Mathew Heal converted a slick penalty corner in true solid fashion and Steve Turnbull scored an amazing individual goal that had the Brighton defence shocked. New boy Kevin Long finished the scoring at half time to put Epsom into the break with a solid 4-2 lead.

The second half was a different story with Brighton showing their clubs National status by pushing hard. Ali Murrell, Martin Wales and Billy Green all dug deep to protect the Epsom goal and keeper Colin Savage pulled of some typical top quality saves. A goal in the last minute by Brighton saw them come close but really only a consolation.

Epsom now move into the quarter final draw of the national cup.
