An injury ridden ladies 1s team had a disappointing result against newly promoted Tulse Hill and Dulwich this weekend. In the worst weather conditions to date, with the entire match being played in pouring rain, Epsom went 0-2 down after the first 5 minutes. However Epsom rallied and finished off the rest of the first half strongly, with several strikes going just wide and a couple of deflections on the post being just missed.
Unfortunately, we were unable to keep up the momentum in the second half, and conceded another goal. Epsom were unable to put in the ball in the back of the net, despite Katie Dun-Simms literally (and perhaps unnecessarily!) diving all over the opposition’s D. The final score was 0-3 to THD, and Epsom saw another chance to get 3 points slip away.
On the plus side however, the search for that elusive perfect(unnecess)aerial was finally finished this week, with every aerial thrown by the team a good one! Special mention must go to Lydia Armitage for so carefully matching her turquoise onesie to our away strip, and for coming all the way to support. Congratulations to April King for being voted MOM.
The ladies 1s are playing newly relegated Staines away next weekend, with hopefully some injured players rejoining the side after being out this week!
