Epsom: 4 (P.Atkinson, Barton, Pizzey 2)
Fareham 2s: 3
Saturday saw Epsom face a strong and young Fareham 2s side at home. Both teams made a slow start but it was Epsom who broke the deadlock after some good individual skill from Kai Smith allowed Paul Atkinson to tap in the first. Fareham then hit back with two well worked deflected goals with Scott Barton scoring a powerful short corner to leave the sides 2-2 at half time.
The second half was a fiery one with both sides sharing in a total of four yellow cards. Alex Pizzey gave Epsom the lead with a great individual effort, only for Fareham to again pull level. Pizzey was then again on hand to score a rebound from a short corner and Epsom held on for a hard fought victory to consolidate their position in 3rd place in the league. Epsom take good form in to a tough double header this weekend with Wanderers at home and Surrey Cup semi final against Surbiton 2s.
