We’re pleased to confirm that, in accordance with both the Government (1 June) and England Hockey (2 June) updated guidance, we are now allowing small groups of up to a maximum of six people (including any coaches) from different households to train together at Old Schools Lane (OSL).
The astroturf pitch will continue to be available at set times for use by Hockey Club members only on a pre-booked basis. There will now be a small charge of £3 per person, payable via the website at the time of booking.
EHC Club Members Guidance – Phase 2
Please note there are extensive rules that we must continue to follow to operate in this period of lockdown. All members must read the EHC Members Guidance – Return to Hockey (Phase 2) carefully and thoroughly prior to booking and using facilities. Download and read…
Bookings (Club Members Only)
The astroturf pitch at OSL will be available for use by Hockey Club members at set times and on a pre-booked basis only. Grass pitches at the site are not in use. Portacabins will remain closed meaning all toilets, handwashing or refreshment facilities will not be available.

Bookings are for 45 minutes, starting promptly on the hour, as follows:
Saturdays / Sundays between 10.00 and 16.00
Mondays to Fridays between 20.00 and 21.00
All astroturf bookings must be made through the EHC website by a hockey club member or by a parent / guardian on their behalf.
All bookings must be made by 18.00 on the day before a session is taking place to allow the Club to plan for numbers attending.
Do not travel to Old Schools Lane unless you have a confirmed booking.
- Allow others to leave before you enter the pitch – if you need to wait then do so away from the pitch and clear of the gates.
- Please only touch the stick, balls, clothing and other equipment (shin pads, gum shield) you have brought with you. Do not touch goals, cones, gates, fences, etc. If a ball is not yours only touch it with your stick or feet.
- If there are others in the car park when you arrive or leave, please act sensibly and responsibly to ensure social distancing can be maintained.
- Please leave the site promptly. Do not stop to chat with others as you leave. Avoid congregating in the car park, around portacabins, pitch side or on any grass areas at OSL.
Opening of the site is subject to a designated Club Representative being present to manage access to facilities and ensure guidelines are being followed.
New member enquiries.
Looking to join us and become a member at Epsom Hockey Club? Please do get in touch via the website.
Please note all on-pitch adult hockey activity will continue to be self-led and not supervised in any way so members using facilities will be doing so entirely at their own risk.
We appreciate your support so far. These changes will mean a higher volume of people using the site and so it is essential that we all continue to be vigilant, kind and considerate to the health of yourselves and others.
Best wishes
Penny
