An impressive 4-0 win against Oxted on Sunday puts the girls through to the last 32 of the National Cup. Two goals from Izzy Nash in the first half put us in charge. Bethan Moncur and Eloise Ballard added two more after the break to round off a great team performance.
Bromley & Beckenham were beaten 2-0 (Izzy Nash, Marie O’Donovan) in the first pool game back in September before an unlucky 2-1 (Lydia Room) defeat later that day to eventual table toppers Wimbledon set us back a bit.
A trip to Old Loughtonians in October with several players missing was a tough challenge but a spirited display saw us come back from 2-0 down to grab a point with Eloise and Marie on target again.
Spencer were despatched 5-0 at Epsom College in November with goals from Izzy Nash, Izzy Briggs and a great hat-trick from Marie.
Oxted only needed the draw on Sunday to go through at our expense but our girls were in the mood and dominated the game from the start.
They will travel to Saffron Walden who are hosting one of the East Regional Clusters to play against Horsham, Dereham and the hosts on Sunday 1st March, with the top team going through to the Last 8 at the end of the month. A great achievement for the second year running at this age group.
Well done all and good luck in the next round.
